Description
Lincomycin is a Lincosamide and bacteriostotic antibiotic which binds to 50s subunit of ribosome and inhibits protein synthesis of bacteria. With this mechanism it is effective on gram positive bacteria such as Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, Clostridia and Mycoplasmas.
It is used for treatment of necrotic enteritis
caused by Clostridium perfringens.
